The IYT Home Study Program is a complete course in the history, philosophy, practice, and lifestyle of yoga. It is completed at the students' own pace and time, using the internet and this IYT website. The Home Study Program is composed of ten chapters, which are outlined below. Along with each chapter, you'll receive study questions and exercises which you'll complete and send directly to your mentor.

Who can take the Home Study Program?

The Home Study Program is open to all individuals who wish to deepen their knowledge of and connection to yoga.

How much does the Home Study Program cost?

The entire cost of the Home Study is $475.00 (U.S. dollars).

What do I receive with the IYT Home Study Program?

You download and print each of the ten chapters as PDF documents from this website. Along with the manual chapter, each module contains study questions and exercises for you to complete and send to your mentor by e-mail.

An experienced mentor will review your work and send you a written evaluation of each module by e-mail.

You'll have access to the IYT Student Section of this website, which has a wide range of resource materials such as ayurvedic questionnaires and holistic health surveys. You'll receive a username and password upon registration.

Your mentor will respond to questions by e-mail as they arise during the course of your work.

What are the requirements of the IYT Home Study Program?

In order to receive your certificate of completion, you must complete all ten chapters of the program.

You'll be evaluated on your personal growth and depths of insight in yoga rather than on writing style and grammar.

What do I receive at the end of the course?

You'll receive a certificate of completion for a Home Study Course in therapeutic yoga. This course forms an excellent foundation for anyone wishing to take our Yoga Teacher or Yoga Therapist Certificate Programs. Approximately twenty hours of the Home Study can be credited towards our certification programs, and you'll receive a $150 tuition discount on these programs if registering within a year of your Home Study enrollment.

What if English is not my native language?

Our materials are available only in English at this time. Although a good ability to read English is necessary for this program, the answers to the study questioons can be completed in English, Spanish or Portuguese. We have mentors available in these three languages.

The Home Study Program is supervised by Joseph Le Page and a staff of experienced mentors who have themselves completed the workbook which you'll be using and have an in-depth understanding of the material contained in your five-hundred page training manual.

 

 
Joseph Le Page
Joseph Le Page is the founder and director of Integrative Yoga Therapy and the primary teacher in all IYT training programs in all location. His approach to teaching has been influenced by Kripalu Yoga and Tibetan Buddhism, as well as studies in India where he lived for two years. Joseph has traveled in more than a hundred countries studying ancient ways of wisdom and varied approaches to healing. During his master's degree work, he focused on experiential education and later saw that these principles of creative student centered learning could be applied to the teaching of yoga. Joseph has also studied various indigenous healing methods in-depth including Hawaiian healing and body work. IYT is a vision that brings together Joseph's insights through world travel, his study of yoga, experiences in healing arts and a vision of how to bring these together in a comprehensive and creative educational program.
